Kanzashi are often worn to match a particular season, and many of the flowers they represent are symbolic of certain times of the year.
These kanzashi are arranged by month, with a description of each different style and what the design signifies.
I have made both traditional Japanese kanzashi and some original versions based on my favourite British flowers.
