Kanzashi are often worn to match a particular season. In traditional Japanese fashions, seasonal themes are important and are shown in both clothing and accessories. Many of the flowers that kanzashi represent are symbolic of certain times of the year.
This section showcases this floral calendar.
Examples are arranged by month with a description of each different style. I have made both Japanese style kanzashi and some original designs based on my favourite British flowers. I have included the scientific names for plants in case you are interested in looking up the real-life versions.
